Role Description
This role involves working with the Business Architect, reporting teams, and other business units to assess current capabilities and identify high-level customer requirements.
- Understand the functionality of Source Systems (Policy, Billing, Claims, and other source systems) and the various data attributes associated with each product.
- Understand the core functions of the Out of the Box Insurance Data Product – Duck Creek Clarity or Duck Creek Insights.
- Work on P&C Insurance data models (Policy, Billing, Claims, Party) to map data elements from source systems.
- Elicit detailed product requirements and use cases and develop and maintain the business requirements (reporting and data mapping).
- Participate in transitioning the requirements and use cases to the technical team and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements.
- Participate in quality management reviews as outlined in the Quality Management practice, particularly reviews of the designs, prototypes, and other requirement work products.
- Translate requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product and user acceptance testing.
- Perform other related duties and activities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, or higher education level, or foreign equivalent, preferably in an area with analytic emphasis.
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience, preferably as a Business Analyst in P&C Insurance Domain.
- Experience interfacing with customers, including customer presentations.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Experience in gathering requirements, identifying gaps, estimating, implementation, test planning and execution, and User Acceptance Testing definition and execution.
- Experience in designing data warehouse systems and associated data marts.
- Experience in understanding current and future reporting requirements.
- Experience translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for assembly, product, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience/knowledge of P&C Insurance software applications is a plus.
- Experience/knowledge of software development life cycle for P&C insurance software is a plus.
- Having prior Duck Creek Insights or Clarity is a big plus.
- Experience in MS SQL Server or Snowflake is a big plus.
- Experience in reporting platforms like PowerBI is a plus.
- Experience in Agile software development is a plus.
Other Requirements
- Travel: 25-50%
- Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.
- Physical: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
