BSSC CGL Syllabus for General Science & Mathematics

The detailed exam pattern along with the marking scheme is as important as the syllabus for the exam. The Exam has four stages and a detailed exam pattern must be known to all the candidates. The BSSC CGL exam pattern for each stage is as follows:
- The BSSC CGL Prelims is a qualifying exam with an objective format.
- The BSSC CGL Prelims Exam lasts for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- Candidates who pass the BSSC CGL preliminary examination are eligible to take the BSSC CGL main examination.
- There will be three sessions of 50 questions each in the preliminary exam.
- For a total of 600 points, there will be 150 questions.
- For each wrong response, one mark will be deducted from your final grade.

The exam is held in form of 2 papers.
- Each paper is for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- Paper 1 is a language paper (Hindi language) having 100 questions for a total of 400 marks.
- There are minimum qualifying marks of 30% in paper 1, Only those candidates who are able to secure 30 % marks will be considered for paper 2.
- There will be 3 sections in BSSC CGL Mains Paper-2 of the main exam. The pattern and syllabus for paper-2 are similar to that of the preliminary exam.
