We are seeking a skilled and experienced BI BusinessObjects/SQL Developer to join our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using SAP BusinessObjects and SQL, supporting Medicaid/CHIP claims and other healthcare data systems. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and insightful reporting for both state and federal stakeholders.
**This role is fully remote but does require occasional travel to Springfield, IL.**
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain BusinessObjects reports utilizing Medicaid/CHIP claims and subsystem data.
- Create and optimize complex SQL scripts and queries to support data marts and reporting.
- Build and manage BusinessObjects Universes and metadata layers to ensure consistent and efficient data access.
- Develop and maintain robust database systems to support scalable data storage and reporting capabilities.
- Oversee server backups and contribute to ensuring system reliability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide effective data-driven solutions.
- Conduct unit, integration, and system testing for reporting and data components.
- Provide timely and transparent project updates to stakeholders and internal teams.
- Mentor junior developers and deliver technical training when needed.
- Stay informed about evolving BI tools, technologies, and industry trends to continuously enhance the reporting environment.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the success of the project and organizational goals.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects development, including Universe design.
- 5+ years of SQL development experience, including 4+ years focused on performance tuning.
- 2+ years of involvement in data warehouse projects.
- 2+ years of experience using Teradata (v15+), including SQL Assistant.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with clients and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong willingness to collaborate and adapt.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a BusinessObjects server administrator.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, or other healthcare-related data and systems.
- Experience with Tableau or BusinessObjects version upgrades.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
